A new framework for The Salvation Army online

The Symphony project is a website framework designed to deliver a stunning online experience, increase fundraising, deepen engagement and serve fresh and timely content at the local level. Designed in partnership with The Richards Group and DevNext, this network of sites ensures that wherever you live in the Southern US, your community will have access to a compelling and consistent Salvation Army presence online.  Because of its value to the organization at large, Symphony has been built in IHQ's WebManager so that it can scale to any Salvation Army Territory.

Every Program, Every Location

Master Site

The Territorial site explains The Salvation Army as a whole at a very high level. It details the philosophy behind our hyperlocal focus. Within each issue, we make a case for the need, explore The Salvation Army's work and allow users to contribute to the solution.

It also serves those in need by tying directly into social services data so that those looking for help see a more detailed view of what is available near them.

The Territorial site will tentatively launch by May 2021.

The Conductor

The conductor is what we use to manage the framework of all local sites.  We set layouts, analytics, brand standards and almost all the code based work within the conductor.  Think of the conductor like a machine that absorbs all the complexity for a local unit.

The conductor makes it possible for us to learn from all the collective user behavior and make data driven decisions to optimize giving, volunteering, subscriptions, fundraising. It’s the engine that puts our business intelligence to use.

Local Sites

Every division, metro area, corps and residential program in the territory will have access to their own microsite within Symphony. These sites have a simple interface that allows staff to administrate a beautiful, professional, branded site with no code knowledge.

Each site can configure their own homepage, adding content and promoting local initiatives. Each site has a giving toolbar where visitors can volunteer, subscribe, attend, give or start a fundraiser.
